Australia’s Embassador Visits Access Kitchen

Australia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Tom Wilson, visited Access Kitchen in Zahle,  accompanied by UN Women Representative in Lebanon, Gielan El Messiri, and members of the UN Women Lebanon team, to meet the women leading this initiative and witness firsthand how they are serving their communities while building skills, livelihoods, and resilience.

As part of the wider Access Kitchen initiative across Lebanon, 140 women with disabilities prepare and distribute more than 750 hot meals every day to crisis-affected families across Beirut, Zahle and Saida, demonstrating the power of inclusive, community-led solutions in times of crisis.

This initiative is implemented through the LEAP project, led by UN Women Lebanon in partnership with LUPD, with the generous support of the Australian Embassy.
