‎Palestinian Disability Forum

In 1997, associations concerned with the issues of Palestinian persons with disabilities in Lebanon took the initiative to invite associations and institutions working in the field of disability in the Palestinian community to participate in a statistical project for Palestinians with disabilities in Lebanon, and since the response from various parties was remarkable in launching and adopting the project in all Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon, the idea developed and found ways of cooperation and communication between the various parties, which naturally led to the formation of the Palestinian Disability Forum.

Since that time, the form and work of the forum began to evolve and take multiple and pioneering forms in the field of coordination, networking and cooperation to achieve unified goals, the most important of which are:

  • Coordination, cooperation, consultation, and exchange of information and expertise among the members of the forum.
  • Establishing a specialized reference for the issue of disability in Palestinian society, with each association retaining its independence.
  • Establish partnership and transformation programs among members to stimulate the integration of leading-edge services and values.
  • Monitor the performance of those working in the field of disability and ensure their professionalism and respect for basic human rights, social justice, and sustainable inclusive development.
  • Motivate, support and create groups of people with disabilities and involve them in planning for them.
