Funded by the Regional Development and Protection Programme (RDPP) and implemented in partnership with Trócaire, under the project “Enhancing Access to Rights and Strengthening the Self-Reliance of Vulnerable Lebanese and Refugee Communities in Lebanon through Support to Locally Led Initiatives.”
LUPD conducted a specialized four-day training for members of the Internal Security Forces in Baalbek-Hermel, hosted by the Municipality of Baalbek, whose support contributed to the success of the activity.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of disability and gender-based violence (GBV) from a human rights perspective while enhancing their capacity to deliver inclusive, survivor-centered responses. Topics included inclusive communication, accessibility, reasonable accommodation, and reporting and referral mechanisms, helping ensure that women and girls with disabilities can safely and equitably access protection and support services with dignity.
