The Lebanese Federation for Persons with Motor Disabilities (LFPMD) launched the My Right 2022 campaign, which demands the rights of people with disabilities, pregnant women, and the elderly during the 2022 parliamentary elections.
The conference dealt with the main themes that the Federation has worked on since 2005 until the parliamentary elections in 2022, which included the Federation’s efforts on the legal level, research and studies, election monitoring, coordination with the Ministries of Interior and Education, data with the Ministry of Affairs, and the responsiveness of governors.
During the conference, Federation President Silvana Lakkis emphasized the importance of political rights for people with disabilities and its direct link to other human rights.
The conference was followed by a long training day for more than 200 observers on monitoring violations against disabled voters in the May 15, 2022 elections.
