Mousawat Organization was established in the Lebanese Republic in 2008 under the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities No. 1690.

The main objective of the organization was to transfer the disability and rehabilitation projects that had been established and managed by the Norwegian People’s Aid Society in Lebanon since 1983 to a local association with the aim of diversifying funding sources and continuity.

Objectives of the organization:

• Supporting people with disabilities to participate in all aspects of life on the basis of equality.
• Empowering people with disabilities to improve their independence and self-determination.
• Influencing decision-makers in social policies to increase support for the rights and services of people with disabilities.
• Developing the capacities of associations and institutions working in the field of disability.
