On May 10, 2022, Minister of Information Ziad Makkari received, in his office at the Ministry, a delegation of representatives of associations for the disabled: President of the Lebanese Union for Persons with Motor Disabilities Silvana Al-Laqis, President of the Shabiba Association for the Blind Amer Makarem and a number of representatives of disabled associations in Lebanon, to brief him on the code of conduct related to the parliamentary elections. Makkari stressed “the importance of this code of conduct and adherence to it, and to follow it to the fullest extent.” He listened to the demands of the representatives of the mentioned associations, especially in the media, calling for “helping and supporting them in all Lebanese media.” The Minister of Information and the representatives of the associations agreed on the “Code of Conduct for Persons with Disabilities and the Media”.
