On June 15, 2026, the General Assembly of the Alliance of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities in Lebanon convened at the headquarters of the Lebanese Union for People with Physical Disabilities (LUPD) in Beirut. The meeting focused on discussing the overall action plan, advocacy strategy, coordination mechanisms, and organizational roles of its members.

This meeting addresses the current circumstances in Lebanon and aims to strengthen collective efforts to protect the rights of persons with disabilities, ensuring their inclusion in all aspects of recovery, reconstruction, and rebuilding processes.

The LUPD acts as the General Secretariat for the coalition and hosts its meetings. Alongside LUPD, the coalition comprises several organizations, including the Lebanese Association of Blind Academics, the Friends of the Disabled Association, the National Association for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Inclusive Network for the Advocacy of Persons with Disabilities, the Learning Center for the Deaf, the Lebanese Union of the Deaf, the Lebanese Self-Advocacy Association, and the Forum for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
