The first issue of “Inclusive Development” was published in January 2011, with an editorial by Dr. Marwan Al-Bast titled “Towards Inclusive Education”, in which he talked about the necessary steps towards a culture of inclusion that paves the ground for the adoption of educational inclusion in Lebanon. The issue included an article on education and human rights, and a definition of inclusive education according to international conventions. The issue showcased the activities of the Inclusive Development and Self-Advocacy Project, devoted space to the topic of development and inclusive development as two concepts, and looked at marginalization and marginalized groups in Lebanon.

The issue was supervised by Silvana Al-Laqis, edited by Emad El-Din Raif, and prepared by Dr. Marwan Al-Bast, Sumaya Bouhassan, Rasha Nasser El-Din: Dr. Marwan Al-Bast, Sumaya Bouhassan, Rasha Nasser El-Din, and was designed and produced by Fouad Al-Miqdad.
