Humanity and Inclusion (HI)

HI was founded in 1982 as a result of a feeling of outrage about the injustice faced by victims of conflict.

HI works in around sixty countries in emergency, reconstruction, chronic crisis and development contexts. Since 1982, the organisation has been working alongside vulnerable populations, in particular people with disabilities.

HI is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, taking action and bearing witness in order to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.

Outraged by the injustice faced by people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, we aspire to a world of solidarity and inclusion, enriched by our differences, where everyone can live in dignity.

On January 24th 2018, the global Handicap International network became Humanity & Inclusion.

This network is composed of a Federation which implements our programmes in the field in around sixty countries and of eight national associations.
